Privacy Policy

AIGauge is a Chrome extension that shows your Claude and Codex usage. This page explains usage data and the promotional-slot network calls separately.

1. Usage data

AIGauge fetches the information needed to display the panel — usage percentages, reset times, and the kinds of limit windows available — from your already-logged-in claude.ai and chatgpt.com tabs.

The fetched results and your display settings are stored in Chrome's storage.local.
Usage data and account information from the target services are never sent to AIGauge's servers.
No AIGauge account or email sign-up is required.
AIGauge never collects API keys, conversation text, prompt text, exact token counts, or payment amounts.

2. Usage history (on your device only)

To show a trend, compare with the previous week, and estimate when a limit will be reached, AIGauge stores a history of the usage percentages it fetched in Chrome's storage.local.

Only three things are stored: the time it was fetched, an identifier for the kind of limit, and the percentage used.
The organization's internal id is not stored verbatim — it is reduced to a short hash value. Names, email addresses, and organization names are never stored.
Conversation text, prompt text, and token counts are never stored.
History is kept for at most 31 days and, once the cap (3000 points) is exceeded, the oldest points are removed automatically.
The history is never transmitted anywhere.
You can delete it at any time with "Clear history" in the side panel. It is also removed when you uninstall the extension.

3. Fetching the usage read configuration

The internals of claude.ai and chatgpt.com change without notice. So that the display can recover without waiting for an extension update, AIGauge periodically (about every 6 hours) fetches a public static JSON file describing which paths to read and which key names to use.

Only data (a list of strings) is fetched. No program code is downloaded or executed.
This request never includes your Claude/Codex credentials or usage data.
The destinations that this configuration can specify are restricted to an allow list bundled inside the extension (claude.ai / chatgpt.com). The configuration that we publish cannot widen that range.

4. Fetching the promotional-slot configuration

To keep AIGauge free, a small promotional slot periodically fetches a public static JSON file to decide which image, link, and time window to show. This request never includes your Claude/Codex credentials or usage data.

5. Displaying promotional images

In addition to bundled images, AIGauge may display remote images over HTTPS. When a remote image is shown, your IP address and basic browser information may reach the image host, just as with any normal web image request.

6. Counting promotional clicks

When you click a promotional slot, our tracking hub counts the app name, slot, date, and click count. It never counts direct identifiers such as your email address, your Claude/Codex usage, or conversation content.

notifications (optional): A notification when a limit reaches 80% / 95% and when it resets. It is not requested at install time; AIGauge asks for permission only when you turn on "Alerts" in the side panel, and returns the permission when you turn it off. The decision to notify is made entirely on your device and nothing is transmitted.

8. Analytics on the official website

AIGauge's official web pages use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand page performance and interest in the extension. We measure page views, clicks on links, FAQ expand/collapse, and views of key sections. Claude/Codex usage data or conversation content fetched by the extension is never sent to GA4. Google Signals and ad personalization signals are disabled.

9. Unofficial tool and API changes

AIGauge is an unofficial, third-party tool and is not affiliated with Anthropic or OpenAI. Because it relies on undocumented internal APIs, the ability to fetch usage data may temporarily or permanently stop working if either service changes its API.
